a list from anna

driving up the coast
        with the sunroof open
        & the breeze in my hair
wiggling my toes in
        supersoft grass
unexpected letters &
        packages from faraway
        friends
hugs – real hugs, the
        kind that leave me
        feeling safe and cared
        for
going out for omelettes
        with plenty of bacon and
        coffee at 2 a.m.
glances that linger
the fresh potential of
        a new roll of film, a
        blank drawing tablet, or
        the next journal page
new girly-girl shoes
laughing so hard that i
        cry
the jasmine that
        greets me each night
        when i come home
